I took the ACT in December with no prep and I scored a 25
English= 27
Mathematics=26
Reading= 25
Science=20

I'm planning on taking the exam in February and hoping to achieve a 2-3 point increase. What are some ways people have increased their scores? Any test-prep books? I have the big red book and I guess it's beneficial, but are there any other books that can help me? Any help at all and success stories will be appreciated. Thanks!

I would advise you to wait till a little later in the year, when you are more familiar with trigonometry. Take the state test in April and try the SAT in June, since your science is low.

im in a similar position (assuming you are also a junior), i got basically the same thing on decmeber and it was my first time taking it, no prep. but im not even going to take february. I’m going to take both the April national test and the state mandated test at the end of April (and then june if i have to). I dont think my february score would differ much from my december score because it really isnt that much time to prep (factoring in the fact that ive spent most of winter break studying for school finals and whatnot).

If you are a senior, obviously just practice as much as possible and if your practice test scores are improving then you should hopefully see an improvement on the real thing.

Try doing a lot of practice tests before February. Actonlineprep has two tests and the official Act booklet for 2008-2009 has a practice test. If you have time, try PR tests too.
