Is there any way to avoid getting a bad grade? :(

I'm in the CoE, not L&S. But the course (phys) is in L&S. Will this still apply?

How late is "retroactive?" Can it be done after a final grade has been posted? Or does it need to be done before I receive a grade? (I haven't yet, but should by mid-week.)

How practical is doing this, seriously? I don't like doubting people, but I'd assume that if it were this easy to cancel a bad grade, everyone would be all over it. Yet you seem to be the only one who knows about the existence of a grade withdrawal procedure.

err, I don't know how it works in CoE.

Retroactive can be done for awhile, past final grade postings, but ASAP is better.

I filled out a form with a letter from the Tang Center and a personal statement. I don't know if it will be accepted or not; hopefully yes. I'm not even quite sure when they make the decisions.

Honestly, though, what are your reasons for this? I mean, I know you said you think you failed your final, but the fact is students fail a lot of courses and either take the fail or retake the course. Did you have specific causes for your difficulties, or was it just that the course was tough?
