Are there a lot of people having been accepted by WashU? I am accepted by WashU less than a month after I sent the materials. I am very curious about the high acceptance rate of WashU and the rolling admission system? Is there anyreason that makes WashU want to admit so many transfer students?

what makes you think washu has accepted so many transfer students?
p.s. what are your stats and where are you from

WashU had a 20% admit rate last year. I don't know why they admit so many students and I don't know what their actual retention rate is for transfers is. They do have a 97% retention rate so it isn't exactly a place where students want to leave.

i think the number of acceptted students is somehow larger than usual 200+.
I am from China and attend the first year at a top 50 university. My College GPA is 3.69, HS is 90 out of 100. SAT 1400(Math+CR), not excellent EC, taking graduate level courses as a freshman, strong recommandations, did not apply for FA, and strong essays.

does washu use your current college's gpa or does it take all grades from all colleges attended to calculate gpa?

I'm sure they look at all college GPAs. That sounds like standard procedure.

sachmoney- did you get accepted to washu?

I have only one college record...

I didn't apply this time.

what made you interested in washu?

Me? I applied there ED two years ago. Ever since, I've been bitter. hahahaha. Truth be told, I am no longer interested in WashU. I think I would've been happier academically but in terms of the city, I wouldn't be happy. My sister might go there actually.

yeah, i'm from st.louis and the city totally sucks (to live in permanently). but i think it's a good city for college people. have you/has she visited? the campus is f***ing beautiful.

Hi j-heston, how is the weather there?

hi loleo. the weather (i'm assuming you mean year round) is great except for the summers. that shouldn't affect you much as school is not in session then. summers are hot and extremely humid. the winters are not bad in terms of snow and sleet. the spring is usually in the 60's and breezy. i love them. fall is the best season, though. your first semester will be beautiful!

I've visited twice plus I overnighted there. My sister has visited there once. It's an awesome school, and YES the campus is absolutely gorgeous, but I can tell you right now that the school wasn't/isn't for me. I hope my sister gets in somewhere else (off the waitlist :) because I won't have to visit her there. Going there just brings back bad memories.

What happened?

I really hate humid.

I was accepted ^_^

Don't complain about the weather. It's absolute paradise compared to Memphis.

kindofblue- i know this question has probably been asked a thousand times, but did you receive a letter or a package? was the website updated by the time you received your acceptance letter/package?

Thanks j-heston, I have received a package from WashU.
