it's April 18 already. I still didn't get the FA package. and i think UT wants a reply of admission by May 1. I need to know the money first and then decide.

I checked my aid status, it says:

Your financial aid award information is not yet available.

We have received your verification documents and are currently reviewing your file. Please allow up to three weeks for this review to occur.

Our records indicate that you currently have nothing to complete. This could change depending on where you are in the financial aid process. Please check CASH regularly for additional requirements.

they say that for a month already. drives me crazy.

BTW: I received and completed the Verification sheet and sent to them 4/1/09

Havent gotten mine either, and sent the verification documents around the same time. Im guessin they are just really busy around this time, it took a while last year also.

Same here! But my FA application is not complete!! Did you guys turn the bank information in? What if I don’t have a check account? I know they don’t accept credit card. Will they review my application if it’s not complete? By the way, what is FERPA RELEASE for? Do I have to provide my bank information? I’m confused! It drives my crazy too!

“FERPA release” is a permission form. You the student, an 18+ year old legal adult, can sign this form so your parents can have access to your financial aid award or other financial data.

I’m going to give the financial aid office a piece of my mind. I’m extremely poor and they gave me more than 15k+ in loans. They didn’t even give me the ACG grant…

The finaid people CANNOT give you money that they don’t have.

The money simply doesn’t exist. They would love to give every student who applies for aid a full ride. But they lack the funding to do this. It’s impossible.

So even if you have loans, you should be grateful for what grants they give you. Many students don’t get ANY grants at all, and the economy is just as rough right now for these kids.
