Is there anything bad about NU other than the weather and a few recent incidences?

It may seem strange, but I'm fine with the weather that everyone calls nasty...I may even say I like the 4 seasons of Chicago.

There have also been a few cases of assaults and rascist threats at NU, but they are extremely strange and nothing actually happened. These things don't really bother me at all, but what other aspects of student life may not be so great?

I know the food isn't that great, but do ppl gain that freshman 15 in NU with all those buffet-style meals?

Is the party scene really that dull, or is it a pretty good balance for the student that studies and likes a few parties once in a while?

What are some things that people like to do on campus and in chicago with other NU students (or any other ppl NU students come into contact)?

BUFFET STYLE MEALS?? uh oh...

anyhow i read some scientific study that said the Freshman 15 is actually more like the Freshman 7 in terms of how many pounds an average freshman actually gains during the year...but that's just what i read...could be like triple digits for me...buffet style meals, my goodness

haha oh dear... you guys worry too much about that freshman weight.

i'd like to hear about the original poster's questions too!!!

I dont' know how people can gain 15lbs with all the walking we do! it was more like -freshman 15 for me

i am a lower weight class wrestler who doesn't plan to wrestle in division I at NU, i'm very sure i'll gain at least 15 lb

food sucks (except fro-yo!) but there's a LOT of walking.

can u eat at fro-yo with the NU meal plan?

fro-yo = frozen yogurt and it's available in all the dining halls =]

food sucksss

LOL! Nice to see that some things haven't changed (there's also the cereal bar when meal options suck).

One advantage of joining a fraternity are the generally better meals (can vay from fraternity to fraternity depending on the house's cook; the cook at my house was pretty good around a grill, barbecue ribs mmmm - granted that was only once a quarter due to budgetary reasons).

And Evanston definitely has a good no. of good to great restaurants and other less formal options.

well, that is one for Wash U because the food there is amazing.

Well, I doubt any dorm food is "amazing". It's relative to other dorm food. But then I am pretty picky. I hate PF Chang's...

This is random:

If you want lots of amazing food everywhere, go to
1. France
2. Italy
3. Hong Kong

:)
