I chose Sixth, didnt give it much thought really. From what I keep hearing here, it's the worst college. Food sucks, most rooms are triples, no social life, far from everything, lots of bugs, no a/c ........
I there ANYTHING good about it? Is there something Sixth is better at than the other five colleges?

nope .

Have you not read my other thread about 6th?

yes, i've even asked a couple of questions there :)
its just that i've been getting this weird mental picture of the sixth being sort of a subpar college compared to others.

don't even worry much about it...at the end of the day you're still at UCSD

I currently live at 6th and I do not know anyone who has ever once said "I wish I was in _ college."

I have yet to see a bug inside the dorms. And airconditioning is definately not needed. There was about one week in september that we turned on our fan but it solved the problem instantly. And honestly the food is the least of anyone's worries in college.

Also our GE's are the easiest of any of the colleges.

The only downfalls are old carpet, tripled rooms, and we're far from some things.

But in return we have by far the most social setting of any college. The building layouts are great (but a little small) and we even get a kitchen. We have the grassy field right in the middle. There are always people sunbathing, playing frisbee, soccer, studying right out there on the grass.

These things far outweigh the old carpet.

We all love the 6th dorms to death and wouldn't have it any other way.

The only other dorms that might possibly compare are ERC's which are ridiculously big and brand new.

I had the same concerns about 6th before I started- but they are just exaggerated rumors and I wish I hadn't spent so much time worrying about it last year.

So relax and enjoy the end of high-school! Just make sure to turn in all your forms and stuff.

Thanks for some reassurance :) I know that all the rumors and negative things is only a small part of the college. I just wanted to finally hear some good things about 6th. I don't want to be entering college with the mindset "crap, my college is gonna suck"

just wanted to re-iterate, i'm not in 6th but a few of my friends are and the kitchen is really convenient...i wish we had a kitchen :(
also 6th apartments are NICE.

the 6th college gets alot of bashing because it's far away from the main colleges (revelle and muir), plus the dorms look a bit like science camp facilities. All in all it's not bad at all, the dining area is pretty small but warren is right next door if you're willing to take the walk.

Most people come to love their college at the end of the year, so don't sweat which college you are in.

yeah, sixth college isnt that bad.
but i do think muir has the easiest ge's, not sixth. in my mind its probably number three after warren.

Although I didn't really want Sixth. I'm kinda glad that I did. Those of us that did get into Sixth this year should be the one's to give it a real name. Something to let this college be much more known. Or at least.. a name other than Camp Snoopy.

Let's do it guys ^__^

haha. that college DOES need a name. how about george w. bush? no? hahahaha... i kid. -_- (i do know some guys at my school that are in love with the guy.. >.> i just wanna smack them, but hey everybody has a right to their own opinion. lol)

but seriously, what name do you think the college deserves?

haha call me selfish but... whatever it is, I want to be the one to help establish that name XD;; or at least be a part of it

AND since i'm not there yet.. lol LET's hope it can WAIT =)

meh, i got into warren. haha. i wanna do student government. nope i didn't do it in high school but i want to get involved. =]

yeah haha that seems good ^__^;;
Student body control :]

I'm tryign to get into Warren, you can check out my post in my thread which will be below this one after I post this post lol
