Is there anything I could have done better in this situation?

I got rejected from a summer program, the main reason being that my teacher never submitted a recommendation, so my application could not even be considered.

I talked to my teacher a month in advance about the recommendation letter, and gave several reminders before the application was due.
I also made a packet for her detailing all of the information on the summer program, and made sure absolutely sure she knew the due date.

Did I make the mistake of asking for the recommendation too early?

Oh, by the way. This has happened to me three times already this year…once for my QuestBridge application, once for this, and another time for a hospital volunteer application.

Did you give all three of the letter of recommendations to the same teacher? If so, why didn’t you distribute them to different teachers?

No, each was from a different teacher.

Could you have done anything? No, probably not.

No, your teachers are just lame.
