Try Allegheny College, Layfayette, Ithaca....I think all still have spots.

she's probably too old for JHU's Center for Talented Youth- you have to be under 17

CTY just rolled out new programs at Princeton and probably some other locations for summer programs that accept kids over 17.

One of my friends has done CTY every summer and loved it.

stevens is a good school on a really nice campus, and hoboken is an amazing city. plus it's literally a five minute train ride away from manhatten.

i think Brown still has some courses open from the emails they keep sending. BC and CMU, maybe?

Bigtwix, I think your comment says more about you than about Stevens Institute.

Stevens Institute of Technology is ranked by US News and World Report as the 77th best national university in the country, and its location right across the river from NYC makes it attractive to a lot of people--including for a pre-college program

http://www.stevens.edu/press/pr/pr793.htm

Also, they claim that 90% of their pre-med people are accepted to medical school, compared to a national average of around 50%. Here's the link to that:

Big twix that was quite arrogant and pompous of you. Stevens is quite respected.

lol or you can take online courses in the comfort of your home

:) try :

Seriously.. its pretty close to my house, and its a well respected computer school...

Wow, thanks for all the information, everyone!

It sounds like there are still quite a few things open, and I'm looking at them all as you post them (I'm interested in a few so far, yay!).. anyway, I guess I'll be a bit more specific about my dream one (well, impromptu.. limited dream one).. I live in upstate NY, and I want to eventually live and/or go to school in NYC, so anything around there or in a similar urban environment would be great.. and right now my main interest for a major is leaning towards Public Relations, although there aren't really a lot of good programs for PR, so just something Communications related.. I thought maybe that info would help a bit? =P

Oh, and here's a real monkey wrench to throw into the works... is it possible that any of these programs don't require teacher recommendations? It's not that my teachers hate me.. it's just that.. well, I can't see them writing a good rec.. I've missed so many days of school, it's getting to the point that... well, they might actually hate me. o.o

Gah, I'm so worried about this for when it's time to do real college apps too! =0 Anyway, if anyone has anymore information, or can elaborate a bit on any of the programs, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks again, guys!

I have no idea.I like pure science and math too, which is my major.

If you're into the arts at all, I believe the programs at Parsons the New School for Design are still open! It ranges from photography to art management to interior design to drawing and painting (which is the one I'm doing!)

And it's RIGHT in the middle of NYC, so it should suit your needs.

I totally understand the $ issue and why you were hesitant to apply...these things cost so much. Even with a scholarship, this summer will probably cost me upward of 3k :/

oh, and I don't think it requires a teacher rec either! :)

sounds good...

grtskt89 - are you going to the Barnard 4 week program?

wow.. @ bigtwix's comment. ridiculous.

yes I'm going to Barnard's 4 week pixiesticker. what bout u???

Yes! I am - it's good to find someone else who is going

For females, check out http://www.academic.org/programs.html

That's a really great listing of programs of all different types across the country, and many of them are still open. Check it out.
