Is there anything to do at WM?

I just visited WM last week, and although I loved the campus, it seemed like it would be a drag to live in Williamsburg. Other than what goes on on the campus, there is no town area to hang in. Also, WM doesn't have the internship oppertunities that schools like American or Georgetown (DC!) would have for an IR student. But I really loved everthing else about the school so I just gotta ask...is there ANYTHING to do at WM?

Dude, don't you want to do more in college than "hang out in a town area" What the heck???? It is not a drag to live in Williamsburg unless you are a drag. People that come to William and Mary know that it is not close to DC. They know that. There are plenty of internship opportunities. What are you talking about? If you want to hang out in a town in the DC area, go for it, but be prepared to wear a bullet proof vest. William and Mary is a GREAT and fun school. Where do you currently live? Do you hang out in the town there? I'm guessing that you are under 21 and can't really go to bars. We do have some areas in town where you would be free to stand around in.

First, DC is not that dangerous. I go there quite often by myself - I have been doing that ever since freshman year of high school, and have gotten lost plenty of times without any issues.

I don't love Williamsburg either, but I see its small size and lack of entertainment as an asset, not a disadvantage. It keeps the action on campus, which is not only convenient because everything happens close by, but also keeps it concentrated - people aren't off all over the place doing whatever. It makes for better opportunities to meet people, enjoy their company, and get to know the school. And Williamsburg is close enough to larger cities like Newport News and the district to make day trips possible. Not to mention Busch Gardens is nearby?

I'm excited :).

Thanks for that reply. I did mistype...I didn't mean to say that WM had NO internship oppertunities, but it doesn't have the same oppertunities you'd get in DC. (other than WM, the other schools I'm interested in are all in DC, which is not that dangerous. Really, give me a break.) LemonFoil, the way you called the small size an "asset" really helped put in it perspective for me...after all, I am looking for a school where people stay on campus. Thanks for the response, it was really helpful.

There's a lot to do at W&M! Ask me and I'll get back to you.

My username should give you a clue as to where I'm from, hint hint. :)
