I have heard so many great things about NEU.. but is there anything you don't like? thank so much for your input guys!

I'm an engineering major so not sure what you are majoring in.. However, I;d say that the physics classes really suck from my limited experience with the physics courses. The professor did not do a good job with teaching them at all! And from what I've heard, the other professors weren't any better either. So if you are majoring in physics, beware!

planning on majoring in business...

Some people hate having a core list of classes that they must take (or at NEU, must choose from a list and take), but that applies to any school with a core. A friend of mine wouldn't even consider any school that had any sort of core-- she said it made her confined. Then again, you're going to be hard pressed to find a school that doesn't have a core...

i think the core at northeastern is pretty flexible actually. it's not like you have to take one specific required class (with the exception of college writing), you have a range of classes to choose from to satisfy the core requirements and some of them can be pretty interesting.

some things i dont like: the administration is kind of sucky. there's a bit of red tape and incompetence that can be frustrating. since northeastern is mainly known for co-op, a lot of the students value work and getting a job over actual education. but again, it's expected when the school has such a huge focus on the co-op program. some of the professors cant teach but that could go for other schools as well.

My advisor freshman year was atrocious. She told me wrong information on many different occasions and if I hadn't gone to the director of the honors program, I'd be in a pretty rough situation.

Also, don't be fooled into thinking that everybody at Northeastern is a hard worker trying to do the best they can like a lot of people say. I'd say there is a select group of motivated students who actually care about their education. There is a very large group of students who don't care about anything. I went into stetson a couple of times last year and was met by some intoxicated students who were "studying" for their chemistry final.

Someone I knew last year got his sleep cycle so messed up that he would be awake until 5 am, skip class all day to sleep, then wake up when everybody else was going back to sleep.

But like moonwave said, you get that at a lot of colleges, not just Northeastern.

Oh, I didn't say I didn't like the core. I personally don't mind it at all.

haha redsox that is hilarious, but ya im sure you get that type of person everywhere

Lmao.. I can think of one guy in stetson west who used to do that.. its probably the same one. :p
