Is there anyway to discuss decision with admission officer?

I'm still slightly baffled with my wait-list by UVa. And even though I didn't pursue it, not coming off the wait-list was a little surprising also, though that was very hard also given the small number of applicants who actually came off the list. I understand UVa is very competitive, and being OOS makes it that much harder, but I fall above the average OOS in SAT/ACT, GPA, and in the subjective areas of the application. Students with lower credentials from my high school were offered admission while I wasn't. So I was wondering if I could talk to an admissions officer about where my application was weaker and what led to my decision. Thanks.

UVa has always said that they treat the essays seriously. Maybe the other students in your school wrote essays that were more well-received.

In any case, once a student meets a certain very high level of credentials in a highly selective situation, it is impossible to be totally objective in picking which of those excellent applicants to admit.
