I refused to submit the application till the very last minute as I couldn't stop perfecting my essay. Midway through editing my essay, I realized it was time to submit my application. Hurriedly I copied my half-edited essay instead of my previous essay (which was checked) and submitted my application.

Now after submission, I realized that I have many glaring mistakes on the 2nd essay!

Is there anyway I can edit my submitted essay?

Terribly sorry, but I doubt it. I've heard of applicants emailing the admissions office to fix a single typo or spacing issue before, but this is a stretch, as otherwise it'd be a huge loophole for extra time.

Even so, I'd try, but don't get your hopes up.

Chances are slim to none, especially if this is for the UC's, which has who knows how many thousands of applicants.

phi if i were you id stop asking this question here and call the admissions office at the schools that you applied to. im sure you are not the only on who has made this mistake. admissions dont want to trip up applicants and maybe they will allow you to submit the corrected verison.

phi dont let anyone talk to the way castel has . he sounds a little heartless many people do things at the last minit lol and certainly since they have already been sent how last minute is that

And Phi, don't let anyone talk to you the way interested1 has, without proper grammar and punctuation. It's almost impossible to discern his writing from the writing of a first grader's. Just kidding.

Answering your question less harshly, you could e-mail/call the admission's office and tell them that you mixed up the submission of essays. I highly doubt that they would, since you had one whole month to review and submit, but it's always worth a shot. If not, well... community colleges? :)
