is there anyway to transfer to cal arts for character animation

I am so interesting to transfer to cal arts for character animation, but heard that they dont take transfer student for that program. However, I saw there is way to transfer to their character animation, because they signed an agreement with santa monica college and the college of canyon, but those colleges are too far from my home, and to live at santa monica is very expensive. So is there any people here transfered into their character animation successfully? I really need advices.

You should ask this question in the Visual Arts and Film Majors Forum. Here is the link: [Visual Arts and Film Majors - College Confidential](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/visual-arts-film-majors/)

It also is perfectly OK for you to call the admissions office at CalArts and talk with them about your situation.

I believe you have to start their program as a freshman, but they do admit mostly students who have some post high school experience (and a top notch portfolio of course)

i already contacted with them. they said they dont take transfer student, but i can transfer as BFA1. However, i dont really know how to, like i just graduating from high school, missed the chance to apply to cal arts. But i really want to transfer from community college to there.

Why don’t you take a year off, work on your portfolio and apply to CalArts for next fall. Nowhere is it written that you have to start college this year.
