<p>Because I only apply to universities in which I’m willing to attend, ones in which I have interest in attending. University of Michigan was the only in-state school, as for Michigan State University it once was on my list before also but I discovered it being 10mins from home etc… I rather not attend, but the school is also really great.</p>

I did research into the schools and discovered they were not par on levels with my expectations, studies etc…</p>

Your situation is difficult. Most high-ranking schools are either too exclusive or too expensive, and I recommend broadening your horizons.</p>
<p>With that said, one of the schools in your OP may be an option. Look as hard as you can for scholarships at Iowa, Minnesota, and Arizona as well as from third parties.</p>
