I was recently admitted to Revile with a joint major of Math/econ. Is this the right choice for my major or does it not even matter. Do graduate schools look to see what college you went to or do they just see UCSD? Also are the only differences between the colleges the GE requirements? Thanks guys for the help.

As a general rule, UCSD’s own prestige has outgrown any prestige that the individual schools might have had. So really, the only thing they’ll really see and understand is that you went to UCSD.

It really doesn’t matter what major you are with regards to your college. Revelle is known for harboring lots of sciencey people because of its GE’s, but one of my friends is a history major in Revelle. The spread of majors might be different for each college, but it would not surprise me in the least if basically every major is represented at each college.

GE requirements are the sole fundamental difference between each college in a big picture point of view, but the college can definitely shape your experience here at UCSD via 1st and 2nd year dorm life which in and of itself is very dramatic.

yeah, the differences are GE requirements and on campus housing. That’s it. After you finish your GE’s and live off campus, your college really won’t matter anymore.
