By this I mean: "will the RD admission's officer re-consider your already examined case if you have obtained a new SAT score?" or will they simply leave you where you are? Of course, I ask this because the results of the Jan 26 SAT will probably come out in late Feb, meaning that the office will receive the score only in early March!

I'm curious about this too.

Bump BUmp BUMp BUMP

same here..
but I will take it also cuz my previous test too bad to hand in..

If you do better, they look at your better score, so if you're that worried about your test score then it will definitely help. It definitely does not hurt you in any way.

actually, i'm pretty sure the jan scores come out sooner. some college will accept it, just email them and ask.
there is a point, as long as you score somewhat higher. a total of a 30 point increase out of 2400 won't really help.

to sheed30..
u mean they will accept?
not too late?

The first test of the new year is timely for the regular round at some colleges (notably Harvard), and that includes the February ACT test in Harvard's case. (Not all states have the February ACT test.) Check each college. Find out what IT says about what test date is timely.

so for regular admissions the Jan. SAT and possibly the Feb. ACT may still be accepted, depending on the college.

Yeah. Of my schools, only Yale and Harvard accept Feb. ACT.

Stanford doesn't accept Jan SAT or Feb ACT.

So obviously there are so many other things to me, but my sat scores were 800 reading, 710 math and 710 writing. I got a 5 on the AP Calc exam, and my essays are strong. But I really want to go to Harvard and it is super competitive, what do you ppl think about retaking it again?

Personally, I think your 2220 is great. Once you get past 2200, I don't see the point in retaking it. I don't think it will hurt you, though.

Well, is there a point in taking the Feb. ACT (plus writing)? I'm applying for Duke and they want all score reports in by March 1st. I doubt the scores will reach there in time, but yeah...should I go for it anyways?

Ask the college.

SAT--definitely take it if you can do better substantially (50+ points would probably be substantial enough). Also it can show schools that you are dedicated to getting into that specific school.

ACT--Februrary might be pushing it a little bit, but certainly contact the college admissions rep. Especially if its a huge jump from a 26 to a 33 or something like that.

all colleges are different in what they accept.
