Hey guys, I'm a junior right now and I just got my act score today and it was a 24 composite. I was wondering is it possible to achieve a 30 by the beginning of senior year. If so, what were some of the books you'd recommend and how many hours a week did you study?

You sound just like me! First test I took was a 25. After taking the test 6 times in total, I have a 31. It probably should’ve only taken about 4 tests, but I slacked off on a few and figured I would do okay. Honestly, the trick is to just take a bunch of practice tests. Look at ALL of the problems you miss. If you miss a lot of silly questions that you fell you should’ve gotten right, you need to slow down and be more careful. After each test, right down what types of questions you missed. For example in math- area of square, volume of cone, percent increase. Then, go to the internet and look them up. You could create a study sheet, but I didn’t do that. In the end, you can increase your score significantly IF you put the work in. I came home from school every day and took one category test and took one full test on the weekend…straight for a month. I wanted it bad. I hope this helped and inspired you!!! If you have any other questions just PM me! Good luck!

@ACThater thanks for your input, it gives me hope that I’ll be able to achieve a thirty with good work ethics. What was the length between your first test and last test?

It was from the Feb test all the way through the December test.

I agree with ACTHater!
I follow the same plan
1 section per school night 4 nights per week and a complete test on Saturdays.

USe ONLY Real ACT tests. Time yourself and grade yourself. Review all wrong answers.

I improved from a 22 to 25 from October to December.

You can do it

@ACThater @kansaskid1 thank you guys so much! I plan on starting your study habits once I get the books.

It’s always possible to improve as long as you put in the effort. Work hard and you will succeed. As for tips theres nothing i can recommend that the above have not yet told you except that confidence and concentration are key!

Good luck!
