Is there still hope for me?

<p>So im a sophomore in high school and i really, really, really love CMU and everything about it. I want to go to CIT but I don't think I have a good chance. </p>

<p>My gpa is a 3.6 right now. My problem is that I don't have enough good-looking classes. My freshman year all i had were general classes and CP in french and science. sophomore year i had all CP, next year I can only get as much as 4 honors classes, honors chem, physics, US history II and math analysis. my class grades are mostly As with one or two Bs for both years except a C this year in french. for ECs i have latin american club and key club, next year ill go for robotics and human rights. maybe I'll be an officer in one of those clubs. honestly im not much of a leader but i'll try. i will take my first SATs during next year, reasoning, physics and math II</p>

<p>i know im a bad candidate right now, probably not even close to a candidate. but i feel like i still have chances and im not exaggerating when i say i love CMU. i want to get in there so badly. from what ive seen, people who consider CMU or are accepted by CMU look much much better. any suggestions or facts or encouragements would be greatly appreciated. is there still hope for me?</p>

<p>Actually you have a solid chance. I had the same GPA as you, although with some of the hardest classes at my school, but the SAT is a big part and if you can pull at least a 2100-2200 that will really help.</p>

<p>One thing you’ll really be glad to hear is that they don’t consider your freshman year at all, or so I was told at a session I went to. 4 advanced classes is good for junior year, keep it up for the next year. CMU also likes well-roundedness so keep up the extracurriculars, it looks like you’re doing well in that area and have a good plan.</p>

<p>It stuck out that you love CMU and that will work WONDERS for your essay, which is a huge part of the admissions process here. Don’t hold back any of your passion for the school in that and I think you are a solid candidate.</p>
