Is This a Bad Idea?

Hi,

I was planning out my classes for next year and realized that I might have a slight problem. I'm in a dual enrollment program right now and will have completed high school graduation requirements by fall quarter and am on track to recieve my associate's degree by the end of winter quarter. I was originally thinking I'd just continue for spring quarter, but I'm not sure which classes I would even be able to take. By that time, I will have finished the Physics sequence (mechanics, e&m, waves) and Calc sequence (multi, linear algebra, diff. eq) along with a few upper level English and Political Science courses. I feel my courseload has been strong but I don't know if colleges would consider it "slacking off" to in a sense graduate early after winter quarter?

As to what I would do during this time it's all pretty much still up in the air. (I'm open to any and all suggestions ;))I had been planning on taking upper level physics classes at the state university, but that would require a 2 hour commute each day which sounds horrible during the winter. As crazy as it sounds, right now I'm thinking I might take this time to go volunteer on a kibbutz in Israel. I'd be able to practice my Hebrew and work hard to pay for my own living expenses. I don't know though...I guess I'm just nervous colleges will think I've got a case of very bad senioritis and would appreciate some input from CC'ers before I decide.

Thanks in advance for the help :)

Nah, first of all you'll have already applied by then and so if they see youve already graduated they cant hold it against you for taking time off! Travel or something, that could be could! Also, do u have to apply as a transfer since you will have an AA degree (even if it is dual enrollment)? But yeah, the volunteer in Israel thing sounds like a GREAT plan. That would be totally awesome and it sounds like an incredible experience. Maybe you could try to get some kind of internship during that time too or you could go read to elementary school kids, take art classes, web design classes, or any other non-credit courses that interest you. Take the time off for sure. You've worked hard and deserve a break. No college will look down on you considering all the courses you'ver already taken. Good job!
