Hey everyone.
Is it a bad sign that I'm still in the "we have completed preliminary review" stage, and have not yet received a midyear request? Does that mean i'm completely out of the running?

No, I've been in preliminary review for two months and haven't received a request for a mid-year report. I sent one in anyways and I'm still stuck in preliminary review. I just suppose we're not getting presidentials or trustee scholarships.

I doubt it means you're completely out of the running. Most likely, there are so many applicants that USC just hasn't gotten to you yet. Just wait a while longer, and if you still don't hear anything, send in your grades to see if your status changes.

There are still at least 6 weeks ahead for acceptance notifications. With 34000 applications, imagine the work and time that takes. Being stressed and uneasy is understandable, but still being on "prelim" is not in the least something to worry about at this stage.
Best of luck!
