Is this a good ACT score? How can I improve?

Hello, I’m currently a junior who just took the ACT for the first time a few weeks ago. I didn’t study for it at all; I went in to the test blind to see how much I actually need to study for when I take the “real” test in a few months.

Composite: 25
English: 26
Math: 19 (lol yikes!)
Reading: 29
Science: 24
Writing: 23
ELA: 26
STEM: 22

Is this a good score for taking it the first time with no studying? What’s the best way to improve my score? I scored a 1070 on the PSAT, although I’m not sure what that’s equivalent to for the ACT. My goal is to get between 29-31 because I want to get into the University of Michigan.
Thanks for any advice, it’s much appreciated

for Michigan you will need around a 32 to be competitive, i scored similar to you and with some work and tutor i have around a 31. depending on how much time you have and the effort you put in you can get the score up

I get the score 32 because i have friends who have got in with that score, as well as other who were denied for scores like 30 and 31

27+ is 90 percentile so shoot for that. P.S your score is ok, but if you’re not happy with it then work hard and do work!
