Is this a good deal?

I know there are a lot of computer threads out there and I feel bad for creating another one, but I do want people's opinions who are more knowledgeable about computers than I am.

I was thinking of getting a Dell laptop. Here's the info.

And the total cost is $1389. Is this a good price or not?

....bump..

That's pretty damn good. Switch to a 9-cell battery at least, or get it an extra. And the videocard is kind of weak, but in the Inspiron 6400 you're not able to upgrade to anything to much better; I'd personally get at least the 256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory™, only $50 more (depending on where you're getting it, I'm looking at this stat on the Higher Institutions page of the Dell site). But your current setup is great, price and all.

yea thats really good, you must of done alot of customizing,

Nice system!

Have you reduced the price through online coupons?

I respectfully disagree with Strykur... you'd only need the X1400 if you wanted to play videogames, the X1300 is good unless you want to do some heavy fraggin' (but even then a X1400 is not enough). I'm content with Intel integrated graphics (GMA 950), which is basically scoffed and laughed at... but I don't game, so it's all good.

For future reference, when doing a laptop query, you don't have to add:

pre-installed software (exception is the type of XP)
"Truelife Technology" whatever stuff.... each notebook producer has it's own little screen enhancement thingy, they just each call it something different (ASUS calls theirs Color Shine)

Killer system though! =D

That looks like an awesome spec and price combo. =)

thanks for the input guys!
