<p>Is it a good idea to write an essay about being homeless? What colleges would appreciate something like that?</p>
<p>If you’ve been homeless, definitely mention it, as it’s obvious that a homeless student, no matter how smart and hardworking, cannot perform as well as they could if they had a home. The Additional Information section on Common App invites you to do so: “Please provide an answer below if you wish to provide details of circumstances or qualifications not reflected in the application.”</p>
<p>If you could make your Add Info essay about being homeless, and your main essay about something else, that would be excellent.</p>
<p>Thanks. I’m haven’t looked at the Common App yet (still a junior). What kind of prompts are there fortthe main essay?</p>
<p>You must choose one from these 5 prompts:</p>

<li><p>“Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what lessons did you learn?”</p></li>

<p>3." Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again?"</p>
<p>4.“Describe a place or environment where you are perfectly content. What do you do or experience there, and why is it meaningful to you?”</p>
<p>5.“Discuss an accomplishment or event, formal or informal, that marked your transition from childhood to adulthood within your culture, community, or family.”</p>
