It's my freshmen year and I'm planning on taking Math 3A, Life Science 1, and honors class, and a fiat lux class as well. Is it suicide to take both math 3A and Life Science 1 in one quarter? That is my biggest worry.

It will be tough to even get into LS 1 because it is a popular class and sophomores will have priority when signing up for classes. If you are lucky to get someone drop when you see it and sign up then you may get a spot. Or if you wait till the first week of classes and someone drops.

More than likely, we’ll suggest you take Chem 14A instead of LS1 during Orientation.

^ I agree. You should try to start on the chem series early, but doing it winter quarter won’t kill you either. LS 1 is typically taken earliest during Winter quarter of freshman year (from the people I know), but if you can get in, it won’t be that bad to take. Up to you.

About math: Math 3A isn’t that bad, since it’s like calculus, more specifically, derivatives. I’d say take Math 31A since it’s more accepted outside of the bio/premed field, but ehhh. Maybe you don’t like calculus all that much, but it looks like you’re in the honors program, so math 3A should not be a big worry for you.
