Is this a good hook?

<p>Our school was named a national blue state ribbon school. I heard that it could be a really good hook, so would I include that or would they know by looking up the school?</p>

<p>Hook = recruited athlete, parents donating $$$ to a school, winning a national science medal, or being a famous person. This is not a hook but your GC should be working with some good colleges.</p>

Forget about scores, recs, GPA. Just knowing they attend a blue ribbon HS opens the doors!</p>

<p>It is not a hook at all and will make not impact your college decisions I’d imagine your school will include that information on their school profile so colleges will know. A hook is being a legacy, a recruited athlete etc. – something that makes you in particular more appealing to a given school as compared to others who have a similar profile.</p>
