I spoke with a friend the other day and they said if I really wanted to make sure I give everything I can offer into getting accepted at a school, I should write an email to them flat out stating how much acceptance would mean to me. My question is, is this a good idea? It's already March, so I don't know how much impact it'd have. Also, Rice's admission department isn't exactly amazing in terms of handling/replying to emails, so I wouldn't really know if they got it.

If I'm concerned about how much interest I showed in my app since it was done long ago and want to get into Rice more than any other school by far, should I write an email stating how much I want it? Thoughts?
