Is this a good idea?

I am applying for transfer to Pomona College, and I wanted to see if this was a good idea before I went along with it. I was unable to have an interview at Pomona because I could not make it out to California except during my school's spring break, which also happened to be Pomona's spring break (I'm from TN). Therefore, I wanted to write the admissions office a letter that let them know that I visited campus last week, loved it, went for a campus tour, met with my academic department's director, and met with the school's basketball coach (I would play varsity basketball if I was accepted). Is this a good idea? Also, how clear should I be that Pomona is my #1 choice?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Providing the admissions office with an update, especially since your visit occurred off the radar, is always a good idea.

Good luck!

I would definitely go ahead and do it. I applied RD and also didn’t get an interview so I did the same thing and wrote them a letter instead. In your letter be completely sincere and show them how excited you are about Pomona and how you’ll be a great fit, they like to see that. Best of luck to you!
