Is this a good Junior year courseload?

Hi! I'm a rising junior and I'm aiming for ivy-level colleges and I go to a really good private school, so the classes are going to be hard.

AP English
AP French
AP Physics B or C (which one do you think I should take?)
AP Calc AB (I think- it might be BC but I doubt it)
AP US History
Photography

Am I killing myself?

meh... I'll be taking 5 AP's in my sophmore year :(

doesn't look too bad to me

I go to one of the top schools in my area, which is one of the best areas educationally (for private school) in the country.

Almost everyone who takes an AP gets a 5. That gives you an idea of how hard the classes are.

yah... pretty much the same here...

3 of th 6 AP's offered have a 90% pass rate or higher...

and psych has a crapload of HW :(

^^why are you taking 5 APs sophomore year if your school only offers 6?^^

purpoise...seems somewhat similar to mine for next year, except I wish I had a free pd to take an elective. Junior year is gonna be hard. :(

AP Lang (hardest teacher in the school)
French 4-Honors
AP Physics B (idk what your strengths are, but math and science aren't exactly my best subjects so that's why I'm taking B. the only reason I'm even taking AP Physics is because my school doesn't offer Honors)
Gym (Required)/Physics LabAP Statistics
Math 12-Honors
AP Gov't and Pol't
AP Macro/Micro Economics

purpoise, im sure you'll be fine!

my courseload for freshman year

Pre-IB Geography
Pre-IB Language Arts
Spanish III
IB Math Studies SL
Biology
Residential Architecture

Fitness for Life (aka gym)

Self studing AP Psychology
Hebrew 101 at State U
Latin I online

re:ala

well... in junior and senior years we take classes with college students so we take AP's only in freshman and sophmore year

Your courseload looks challenging but you will survive through it anyhow...good luck

similar to mine. im aiming for ivys too
mine is
precalculus 2 honors/calculus a-ap
stat ap
chemistry ap
physics ap
spanish 3
honors english 11
biblical studies/religion

My Junior year courseload wasn't too challenging:
AP US History
AP Chemistry
AP Physics B
AP English Language
French 4 Accelerated
Health (required)
PE (required)
Precalculus "Enriched"

My senior year's gonna be tough, though. I have 6 APs lined up as classes and 2 self-studies (as of now):

AP Calculus BC
AP Physics C (M + EM)
AP English Literature
AP European History
AP Economics (Micro + Macro)
AP Statistics
Self: AP Psychology, AP Computer Science AB

Haha, no regular courses, that'll be fantastic...at least I have lunch...

since you're going to be a JR, i'd take calc BC(gives you a sub-score for AB) and physics B, then physics C SR year

At my school, you have to take AB before BC, diesel, you can't just go straight to BC.

I don't know why on Earth a sophmore would be taking 5 APs. First of all, I don't think it's even possible. I am beginning to doubt the credentials of a few CCers. Seems to me like quite a handful love to gloat.

then i guess take AB lol

i think ur crazy but if ur up to the challenge go right ahead

Oh you should take AP Physics C, I'm taking that next year. B is useless because you can't do real physics without calculus. So take C ^_^
But yeah that's a lot of classes >.<

It depends on what career you want to pursue. Physics B is more for med, Physics C for EE

I suggest that you take Physics C if you're up to it

I took APUSH this year, and if you have no interest in history, DO NOT take it. I really hated that class. :D

I'm taking 5 AP classes junior year, too
AP Biology
AP Calculus BC
AP English Lang
AP Macroecon
AP Microecon
Art 2D-3D (I need one lax class)

And then I might self-study psychology and take the AP exam, but I'm sure I'll have my hands full studying for 5 exams.

I took two this year (soph year). AP US Hist and AP US Govt, and I had to work my a** off studying for both those exams because I waited til last minute (and because I dislike social studies). However, US Hist and US Govt are required to graduate, so I'm glad I got those out of the way.

It's funny that the OP asked for suggestions about his/her schedule, and then many of you reply by posting your own schedule. How does that help the OP?
