Is this a good reason to appeal?

My SAT score was a 1900 and my GPA was a 3.87. My declared major is Biological Sciences (BS)
I’m expecting to get rejected so I was wondering if this was a good reason to appeal (just thinking ahead):

My school is offering a new class in which upperclassmen tutor 9th graders who are academically at-risk. I will receive course credit and community service credit and I’d be tutoring about five hours every week. My focus in the class will most likely be biology, so this will be related to my major of choice.

Thanks.

I would bet you would get in actually. I saw a link (which I can’t find now of course) that listed the average GPA for each major, and you’re right on the average, but your SATs are higher. If you don’t get in early decision, you can still get in regular decision.

C’mon, don’t you think you can wait 'till you find out if you get accepted to start thinking about an appeal?

No.

I think I found the link you were talking about. My SAT score is a bit lower, though.

Here it is, if anyone was interested:

If you are applying RD, I thought that you still could call and make changes to your app; am I wrong?
For ED, if rejected you go to the RD pool, so I would think it would still be the same thing of just trying to call and adjust your application.
Regardless, I think you should contact the school and explain it to them.
