I have been preparing for ACT for almost two months, after the 2.6 one, I think maybe I should try SAT.
So today I did my first SAT practice test on Princeton Review.
I got 600-640 on CR
800 on math
740-780 on writing ( Assume I get 10 on essay)

The score is kind of surprising to me, because I thought I could barely get 1800.

Is Princeton Review too easy or the ACT preparation did help?

Is this considered a good start as the first practice test? How much higher do you think I can get before March 13?

PS: I am an exchange student, so my English still needs to improve a lot. I got here in August and took PSAT, I only got 179…
That’s why I assume I could never get above 2000 in SAT

600-640 for an international exchange student? (I’m assuming that you’re not lying)

That’s greatly beyond the majority of non-exchange students.
Keep practicing on the Critical Reading.
Your math and writing seem to hold alot of strength.

If you want REAL exams… get the blue CollegeBoard book!

Yeah, I surprised myself, too. I only got 51 on CR in PSAT… I think the two-months ACT preparing does some help.
But still, I am one of the Ivy dreamers, so I think it’s not good enough.

I really want to get my SAT done when I was here, because it was a lot harder to take one in my home country. And this March and May will be my only chance.

(going to take SAT in June to get the third subject, I got 800s on Physics and math in January)

I have a blue book, but I thought I was not prepared enough to waste any of the ten tests…
Maybe you are right, I should try with the real one.

Anyone else has some advice or opinion? Sincerely ask for your advice.

You are going to need at least a 640 for Critical Reading in order to stay in the Ivy League, since most colleges know that reading is the difficult one out of the other two to improve.

I think you’ve had a fantastic start. Your math and writing sections are very, very strong by any standards. Focus on your Critical Reading, and try to bring it up as much as you can, but also know that your score is very impressive for any student, but especially an exchange student. Good Luck! :)

The Princeton Review tests are harder than the actual thing. They do this to make it seem like you are performing poorly and need to take their prep courses to do better.
