Is this a good thing?

This is the message I received from Michigan State :

The Office of Admissions has reviewed your application for fall 2015. Although your record suggests the potential for success at Michigan State University, it appears that you are in the process of completing required coursework to be admitted to MSU.

You MUST update your academic record by submitting grades for any completed courses and inform our office of any courses currently in progress. All previous grades and current courses from U.S.-based institutions MUST be submitted via your online student portal. Paper transcripts must be submitted to our office for any international institution in order to update your academic record.

We cannot render a final decision on your application until one of the above actions has been completed.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

I got the same exact message. I think it basically means that they want to see that you are being moderately consistent this semester

Did you send first semester grades yet? It doesn’t sound bad. They want to check up on you to see how you are doing.

Yes they have received my first semester transcripts. So do you think if I get around the same GPA after this semester I should be good?

@onceuponamom ^

@lyndseyhunsanger Yea I think that is what it means too.

Any more suggestions?

This message has nothing to do with GPA. You need to go to your online student portal and submit your past and current classes (as long as they were completed in the US). You are not supposed to send paper transcripts unless you’re taking classes internationally. Admissions won’t be reviewing your application until you submit all your classes through your portal.

I got the same message only that I am completing coursework for my limited enrollment major. @msuadmissions does this have nothing to do with GPA as well? I have submitted grades in my portal for past semesters and will after this semester.
