Must be under 100 words. Why did you apply to Dartmouth?
As I stepped foot onto the ground that accommodated Dartmouth, I immediately fell infatuated with the campus’ infinite astounding features. From the library to the biology labs, I quickly realized that I hadn’t felt this connection to another university. As the tour guide showed us around, I couldn’t find any contradictions in the way that I perceived the architecture, education, and the culture that surrounded the Dartmouth community. I love Dartmouth and know that this is where I belong and desire to spend the next four magnificent years of my life.
This is for next year’s early decision admissions. It is still a work in progress.
First off, don’t post any essays you write to CC – some one could copy it. It’s pretty vague, make it SPECIFIC. WHY do you love it? WHAT programs do they offer that you are going to take advantage of? Don’t use descriptive words that don’t really tell them anything. Make it lean and to the point.
Okay, thanks and I will make sure to take it down because of the copying issue.
Not good. Do not use this as an application essay. On a scale of 1 to 10, it is terrible.
Truthfully, you would be better off writing “Because I got an application fee waiver.” then using this drivel.
Honestly, I am happy that you told me that because I didn’t really go back and read it. Now that I went back to read it, I agree with you completely. I will likely get rid of many of the adjectives and make LOTS of updates to it.
Considering that this isn’t the best essay, I guess it doesn’t matter if people copy it or not. Anyways, I agree w/ @astute12. You need to do some more research on Dartmouth. You need to find something very specific, like faculty members, programs, etc. Do not just say how all the facilities of Dartmouth impressed you.
