Is this a good year to be on a waitlist?

Waitlisted at UC Davis and they require an quick essay on why we want to attend… =[
Since its a public, I shouldn’t get my hopes up? I heard alot of people were waitlisted…

Can I be bluntly honest in the summary? How davis is close to home, etc. ><;;

My D was waitlisted at her top choice - Villanova and was accepted to her second - Gettysburg. Villanova tells her she’ll here by June 30th!

I’m furious because kids have to send in their deposits by May 1st, so you’d think they’d have a pretty good idea whose attending bu the end of May. But, the end of June?

Plus, we applied for financial aid and I don’t think Villanova will give her any money and she’s supposed to settle for a triple for housing. Pleeeaase!

The whole process is infuriating!

My S was waitlisted at Northeastern, does anyone know if they require additional info to show interest in their school? He called them and they didn’t say much, just that they could not give out the name or contact for the regional rep as he asked them!!!

Yes, I think that would be fine. Don’t forget to tell them how you hope to make friends with all the international students and that you hope they will be able to come home with you during the breaks;)

My D was wait listed at her TWO top choices, WASHU & UChicago. She REALLY wanted WASHU, but I think she’s over the worst of it.
Even if she were to make it off the wait list, we couldn’t swing it without financial aid and I don’t know what would be available that late in the game. I also doubt that acceptance is need-blind from the wait list.
