I’ve been seeing posts on here that USC will give you a VIP ID when you are accepted. I have not been accepted yet…just waiting. I typed in google “University of South Carolina student portal.” I then clicked on “self-service Carolina” and clicked on “sign in to self-service Carolina.” I then clicked on “VIP ID is an eight digit number. Currently, faculty, staff, and students can find their VIP ID here. Admitted students can find their VIP ID in their acceptance materials” because I don’t have an ID. When you click on that, it comes up with a page of a bunch of different options. Under the bold letters, “What is my VIP ID?”, I clicked on VIP ID Lookup. From there you put in your last 4 digits of your SSN, legal last name, DoB, and letters to prove you aren’t a robot. After I click enter, my VIP ID pops up. What could this possibly mean? Did I get in? I thought only students who have admitted get VIP IDs?
Unfortunately not, we have one as well and did early decision. Apparently everyone that applies will be able to access a vip ID. It does not indicate that you have been accepted. A portal change to a welcome screen or being able to see the freshmen check list would mean you have been accepted.
Oh okay. Thank you
