hey guys

would you consider being a ROMANIAN, and having participated in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 at the NATIONAL GERMAN Language Olympiad and winning 4 th place and 3rd prize ( project) a hook ?

is being a romanian a hook? no.

the national german language olympiad... never heard of it, so I can't judge that.

i don't think so~ why would being romanian be a hook? and the second thing is just another outside activity/ award, not a "hook," persay.

a hook meaning you're really good at german even though you're romanian?
Hmm...sure why not?

Actually, a "hook" would be if you are a URM, recruited athlete, or a legacy with parents who donate millions of dollars (otherwise known as a development case). Other things may be "tip" factors, meaning they might tip toward acceptance if all other factors are equal. But I think this is just an interesting factor, neither a hook nor a tip.

No i think that interesting and developed ECs are also hooks.

no. a hook is something that makes you stand out beyond the field of incredibly talented and diverse applicants. You don't need a hook. It's definitely cool, but not a hook.

wut about owning a college?lol

Well, if one of your parents owned a prestigious college, and you decided to attend that college, you'd pretty much be in. That's obvious, though. And you'd probably have a little bit easier time at other colleges too, because of the connections.

Your mom goes to college.
