is this a hook?

Pakistani lived 4 years in india ?

I'm a somali who lived almost my entire life in Sweden. Now I understand that your point is the Paki-India conflict but I really don't think you could call these different-country-living things a hook, barely a blip on the radar.

It depends on what school your applying to. If the school is awkwardly undiverse...yes, it's probably a hook because it distinguishes you. But other than that, I wouldn't say it's a hook. However, you can make it in to a hook for you if you are able to share any amazing, life altering experiences you encountered while living in India for four years, and that might possibly be a hook.

LOL, there are HUNDREDS of Pakis in India, what makes you so special?

i dont get it, how there hundreds of Pakistanis in india? u cant just live in india for 4 years (yeah visiting is another thing - but i was in an indian school n stuff).... the most u can do is to visit india for a month ... u might be referring to indian muslims though ....
oh i ve also lived in germany for 6 years

so just because there aren't hundreds, you should get accepted to harvard? it is weird the way you hook-obsessed people think. no, a geographic location is not enough to get you in. but i can tell you what is going to get you in - the unique experience you bring from it, a high schore on the four cathegories considered by the admissions office, and lingering effect of your application.

yeah thats true.. i just thought it would be something different - not something that would get me in!

the thing is that after reading 16 000 (not sure abt the no.; I am a transfer) RD applications hardly anything surprizes anymore...

true true ....
