<p>No. I'd say it's considered an extracurricular activity.</p>
<p>if you're studying music or even nursing, or maybe pyschology, then it will look really good...i wouldnt necessarily call it a "hook" though...a hook is more like a URM in a white-dominated field, or a woman in engineering, or doing extensive physics research for someone wanting to study physics</p>
<p>Nah, I think that's more like a really good community service activity. Shows leadership skills and whatnot... but the sad thing is that lots of students start programs. It'll look good, but I don't think it's a hook.</p>
