<p>After visiting in the winter and receiving my acceptance packet in the mail about a month ago, I have been set on going to UMiami. Now, after receiving my financial aid award, my plans have changed. My family's EFC is low ($107) so we were expecting financial aid to help us out in that area. The total amount of aid we received was $19k. This is including the Trustee Scholarship of $11k, so that leaves $8k in grants. We were dumbfounded after opening up the letter and seeing such low numbers. I apologize for the rant, but now onto my point. </p>
<p>Does anyone know why these numbers are so low? Is it a mistake on the Office of Financial Aid's part? Or is UMiami simply not good at meeting financial need?</p>
