Is this a legitimate reason for transferring?

I'm not sure if this a good reason to transfer, but could I state my main reasoning for transferring is location? My mother's state of health is quickly declining, and she doesn't really have anyone else to take care of her except me. (my father passed away and i'm the only child) I'm hoping that if I can transfer to a school closer to her, I can visit/look after her if any emergencies pop up. Thanks

Hello, s01,

My condolences on your loses, as someone who has unfortunately dealt with the death of a parent, I understand your reason for transferring.

I absolutely believe that is a legitimate reason for transferring, it depends on the college you are applying to certainly, but that is a great reason to transfer.

Best of luck to you,

Take Care.

Yeah, that's definitely a legitimate reason for transferring. My condolences go out to you.

Good luck. Hope you succeed!

Thanks for your responses.

A definite reason for transfer. But might or might not be enough to carry you through, depending on the selectivity of the school. Good luck.

It's also a valid reason to take a leave, time off, etc. Don't know if that appeals.

I completely agree with Andale.
