I am taking 5 credit classes for senior year. Then I have something called teacher assistant and then a free block. My interviewer was really surprised that I was only taking 5 credit classes. I explained to him my rigid school schedule and how a lot of the classes I wanted to take were in the same period as some classes that I already had. This was not something I explained in my app.Do you think admissions officers are going to wonder about this?

Every year before this I have taken 7 credit courses. My course load for this year is still rigorous. If I took a class to fill these "free periods" it would have been something random like personal fitness, or child care (essentially things I have no interest in)....My counselor did note that I have the most demanding schedule available at my school. Should I email the college with an explanation of my senior year course load? I didn't think that this was going to be a big deal.
