Hello, I am a rising senior and I am looking for some advice on my college list. I am mainly looking for schools on the East Coast. Currently thinking economics (My Uncle works as a VP at GoldmanSachs and is convinced he could get me an internship/job after graduation) however I change interests quickly. My stats are as follows.

GPA 95/100 UW 97 W with upward trend
Class Rank ~7/110
ACT 31
Taking Sat IIs in October
So far I have taken APWH, APUSH and 3 pre AP english classes. This year I am taking AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP English, AP Euro and AP Spanish

ECs Vice Pres/President of Band, Pep Band 11,12, JV/Varsity baseball 9-12, Shakespeare tech work 11-12, Varsity volleyball 11-12, Counselor at baseball camp 10-12, Debate Team 11-12, Part time job at restaurant, various volunteering
Recs should be good from both teachers, GC rec likely to be generic

At the moment my list looks like this

(Reaches)
Williams (Maybe ED)
Cornell (Maybe ED)
Tufts (Possible EDII if i get deffered/rejected)
maybe CMU

(Matches)
Brandeis
Boston College
Boston U
NYU
Hamilton
Colgate

(Safties)
Rutgers
Sienna
SUNY not sure which one

Is this a realistic list, should I narrow it down more and does anyone have anymore suggestions? Thanks in advance

have you run the net price calculators? will you be full pay?

I will not be full pay and I have not ran ncps but my brother went to college last year and his efc was 6,500 which is why im mainly looking at full need colleges. For this reson i am leaning away from nyu and bu

I think your GPA is great enough, but I highly recommend you to re take the test on October(if the ED schools accept the scores from October). The list itself isn’t that bad, but with that test score, it will be difficult for reaches. Also, ECs seem to be generic. Have you had any awards so far?

If you are looking for merit scholarships as well, there are several safeties schools that give good merit scholarships and have good academic strength.

University of Alabama is a decent school that gives full OOS tuition for 8 semesters if you have

32+ ACT and GPA 3.5(weighted unweighted, doesn’t matter).

Thanks for the info. Just out of curiosity would shadowing my Uncle at Goldman Sachs help my ECs as I may have an opportunity to do so over Columbus Day weekend and several other weekends.

Just a weekend at Goldman is not going to be a convincing EC. Perhaps every weekend for 6 mo. will. Also, what you will be doing over there makes a differences as well.

I would say that by enlarge your list is reasonable, though I might put NYU on reaches just based on what I’ve heard
