Is this a realistic list?

<p>Please Help!!! I am an African-American in private school. overall GPA 3.36. SAT 1850 (1200 without writing).
lots of volunteer hours
active member of several multi cultural clubs</p>

<p>Is this realistic, if not could someone please give me more schools preferably in the south and in or near a city. THANKS!!</p>

<p>Try W&M and UVA in the reach list. They are looking for good minority students. I know an African American male who got into UVA with your old SAT scores, but he was in-state. Out of state is much tougher, I think, but still worth a shot. Probably depends on your essays and recommendations. Both schools are excellent and you would enjoy attending either one. I went to W&M. It's a lot smaller, about 6000 undergrads, all classes taught by professors. In fact most of my classes had about 25-30 students (except the freshman econ and psych classes). Not being a minority, I cannot speak of how left out minorities would feel at either school, but the minority % is very small. I personally never saw any racism at W&M.</p>
