I got this message from msu On my account today. Help

Due to an increase in the quantity and quality of freshman applications, the Office of Admissions requires additional time to thoroughly review all applicants before making a final decision.

You will receive a decision on the status of your application on or before March 16, 2018.

No additional documents are required. The most up-to-date information will be posted to your account as soon as it becomes available. You will be notified by email when a change occurs on your account.

No. It means you are in the RD round. If you applied EA or ED, you have been deferred to RD.

No decision, yes, no or wl, has been made.

Mine says this too. Can you explain more what this means? What does RD mean?

Also, is this a bad sign? I have a 3.74 gpa and 26 ACT and i’m not sure why I got deferred to RD round.

I called and they said that it doesn’t mean anything bad and it doesn’t affect our chances, they just have more applicants so they need more time to review them.

Did they say if they really think it’ll take until march for us to hear back?

Jadsaf: You are ok. My son was deferred to Regular Decision and he got in on March 2nd of last year. However, yours is not a deferral message. A deferral to Regular Decision requests your 7th Semester grades. Your message is just a statement that they need more time. I would be willing to bet that you are accepted by Christmas.

I got the same message on my account but it went away the next day. My whole application was deemed complete on the 11/01 and I just got my acceptance on the 11/22.
