he probably has a decent shot, but his ethics are pretty screwed...

Well, nothing I see in this person demonstrate the fact that he wants to study Computer Science.

The person takes computer science at his school gets a 5 on the AP computer science tests and is interested in mathematics (mathematics by the way is related to computer science) etc. and won a small state-wide award in java programming....and

Given this type of a circumstance I think the guy could have a definite shot...and yes the ethics are screwed up..

PRINCETON IS A GREAT SHOT given: BSE in Computer Science and the following stats:

The person takes computer science at his school gets a 5 on the AP computer science tests and is interested in mathematics (mathematics by the way is related to computer science) etc. and won a small state-wide award in java programming

I agree with what moose66 said, but I know that Princeton's engineering school is quite weak, so they are kind of desperate to boost their program with excellent students. Who knows if this factors in to the admissions process. My friend was rejected from Penn and MIT for engineering, but got into Princeton engineering. Who can really tell

Hey tchaikovsky can I know your friends stats etc. please?

and if someone did undertake this type of a feat do u think he should apply regular or early decision?

You are really annoying....

thanks.........

I don't know that much about him...
4.0 UW, 4.5 W
1520 SAT
800 Physics, 800 Math IIC, ???
NASA Sharp
FBLA awards
His "hook" was that he overcame a very large speech impediment because he does speech and debate (won some awards).

If I was an adcom at P-ton, I'd reject you

first of all, i know that my college's engineering program is extremely weak and you are dumb for choosing my college for engineering when there are other engineering schools out there that actually have engineering and would kill for a student with your stats
second of all, i wouldn't see much stuff computer-related on your application and would realize that something is fishy
third of all, I'm sure someone would reveal to me that you want to be a doctor...either in your teacher recs or your counselor rec; I'd call your school to find out why everything was so fishy if I had to
fourth of all, i would whip out my list of adcoms at other schools and let them know that student X from Y school and Z stats is applying to my school and putting a major down to get in; watch out for him
fifth, I would eat cake and rejoice after my hard day at work
sixth, I would edit this post for grammar and capitalization

are you a princeton adcom foreal?

Wow...this makes it look possible etc..thanks

read my post again with a critical eye

I don't understand why people are always trying to beat the system rather than just accepting it and trying to work with it; everyone wants an unfair advantage...

I was joking....i know how to read CRITICALLY by the way....

and yes I do want an unfair advantage...

Sorry...I hope you forgive me for not seeing the humor in that one.

But, now that you have revealed to all adcoms that monitor these websites that you do want an unfair advantage, I wish you luck. I advise you to not lie on your application and be happy where you end up. Not getting into one of the top colleges is not the end of the world. In addition, you'll have medschool to continue your education and shoot for the stars.

Okay, can we just delete this entire f-cking thread?

I'm worried that some adcom might read.... ;(

Chances there are a few admission officers on this board....I know there is one from Hopkins for sure...and some other college....

Stop bumping this thread up!!! ;)

Hey, I'm pretty sure Brown would want a computer science student like me!!

Damn...thank Alan Turing and Charles Babbage for computers!!

i just read this thread but it makes me really uncomfortable to read it and makes me annoyed....

don't you feel any sort of guilt if you do indeed "cheat" your way into a college that other kids tried really hard to get in.. i just think this potrays your image to the baord negatively...

you've been going around to various threads and i saw you bashing on affirmitive action... honestly, just work hard and try to get into your college by working hard and diligentely. Not pretending to be something your not.

Wow...

If you don't have the stats to get in, what makes you think you have what it takes to compete at this level?

In addition, i'm sure the adcom from these prestigious universities would still deal with the applicant the same way as applicants of other majors.

Plus, I don't think Brown would accept a computer science student like you. I'm sorry but I think these schools would choose well qualified students with a proper attitude.

Just be happy with any college you can get into and just work your way from there.
