Today, I went after school to talk to my counselor. I asked her if she sent my transcripts for Nov. 1 deadlines yet. She said the secretaries are working on them right now. It's 3:20PM on Friday. Am I screwed, or not?

Nope… colleges generally don’t blame it on you for the guidance departments’s fault. Unless you asked them Friday morning (which I highly doubt)

I’d email the college just in case. I believe transcripts were generally the student’s responsbility unless you’re talking about the online form for counsellor’s on the common app?

bump for more info

definitely call and give the college people a heads up just in case. but yeah, Yeti Crab is right, colleges hold you responsible for getting your part of the app in. as for the rest, it can be a little late since you aren’t in direct control of it.
anyhow, it’s not like the people in the admissions offices are going to read all the apps in one day. it takes time, and of course, they’ll naturally read the ones that are ready while the other apps are being prepared for them to read.

Colleges generally don’t blame the students for transcripts arriving late. They know that high schools are working like crazy to get thousands of transcripts out within a short time. A graduating class of 1000 kids might be requesting 6,000 transcripts to be sent out.

I imagine that at some point, a student’s transcript will be online and the students will electronically sent them themselves.
