I'm getting worried because I've missed 14 days of school total this year, (I won't be missing any more.)
5 during the first semester, and 8 during this semester (I had the flu for seven of them, and my birthday was on the other one, and I didn't feel like going to school to take tests while my sister was home from out of state with her fiancee...I wanted to do something with them that day because I don't really get to see them that much.)

And I've been late like 10 or more times.

But I'm a great student....it's just that my Spanish teacher told me that I should start "showing up to class more often." I do show up to class, and I get a 95%+...so I don't see the problem....

Is missing 14 days really that terrible? It's a lotttt less than I used to miss from previous years. In my school, there's a new policy where you can only miss 10 days per semester.

I know this one girl who missed way more than you. She missed 33 days last semester. I think you’re fine. I agree with Poster four, you can’t really help being sick.

You fit in the guidelines given for missing days. Don’t know about the tardies.
But you should go take the tests at school whether your sister is there or not.
Your previous “lot less” than before doesn’t fly as an excuse for anyone.

My husband’s nickname in high school was “PT” for part-time - that’s how much he missed. Didn’t hurt him at all. He aced calculus and enjoyed iceboating/waterskiing at the same time.

I really don’t think that being sick/staying home on your bday is bad. You can’t help being sick. I would definitely try to stop racking up the tardies though.

As long as you keep up in your classes you’ll be okay, but the best way to do that is to attend class.
