is this bad?

when i first tookthe sat i got 2000.and then i took it again and got 2200 which is nice....do u think that this is bad/worse than taking 2200 in the first place because tha adcoms will think that my level is 2000 and i only tried for the sat and got that score or not??do they actually regard the first bad score??thank you

they will look at your 2200 as a 2200. but just a warning: 2200 even is not overly competitive for harvard these days, circumstances depending. i was rejected 3 years ago with a 2320, and things have only gotten more competitive.

i agree.thank u for your answer.

Nope - my two Ds, who are a junior and a freshman there, both followed up scores just over 2000 with subsequent ones in the mid-2200s. But they also had a lot of achievements and honors to go with it, so I didn’t feel that the test scores were the most significant factors in their apps.

BlueDevil: what do you mean by circumstances depending…i mean i have a friend who’s cousin scored around a 2000 on his SAT. He has a special circumstance (events in his life) but still maintained an excellent gpa. Should he still apply to Harvard? Would they look past his SAT score? (I’m not sure of his ECs but assuming they’re great…)
