Is this club a good idea?

I'm currently a sophomore in high school, and I thought that perhaps next year I would make a klezmer (a type of music, typically middle eastern) club. I hear that colleges want to see kids that "make a difference in their community", that they "show leadership" and that they "do something they are passionate about." I am passionate about music, and love to play many different instruments, so I thought it would be a good idea, but it doesn't seem to fit into those other two ideas. Is this club a good idea or a bad one?

It’s definitely unique. Are there other musicians in your school who would join? And would you have the opportunity to perform?

I got the idea from my friend who was talking about a klezmer music he was playing. I suggested that we could make a club, seeing as I know a few other people who like exotic music as well (I like pretty much everything). I’m not sure about venues to play at, because klezmer music isn’t the most popular thing out there. The only place where we might get a gig is at a Bar/Bat Mitzvah. So shortly to answer your question:
People? yes
Places to play? possibly
