You have 11 units, even though you are required to take 12 if you want to be a full-time student. And because you are an incoming freshman you do not have the prerequisites for sociology 130.

So your courseload might be too easy, but of more concern to you should be the fact that it doesn’t work.

I do think 13 units, esp. with a discovery course is too little unless you have plans to be really busy (job + clubs + outside activities on top of school) in the fall.

how do you still have soc 130? i thought that guy said freshmen can’t take it
i agree with ynot though. hehe you’ll have an awesome fall. it might feel a bit easy though in terms of workload.

sorry for reasking. but is this schedule of 15 units too little?
chem1a-4 units
math 16a-3 units
chinese 1ay-5 units (supposed to take up a lot of time)
decal-2 units
I was going to add a r&c, but couldn’t get into german r5a for tues/thurs.
I got into italian r5a, but I already have too many class hours on mwf. and it would total to 18 units.

i must have added up incorrectly. the schedule above would be 14 units. I plan to add italian studies r5a (already enrolled) for a total of 16 units +2unit chess decal. too much? any advice appreciated

In general, 18 units is a little too much your first semester. But it’s not so ridiculous that you definitely can’t handle it, and it’s not that hard to drop a class after a few weeks. So give it a try; I know a few people who have managed a schedule like this just fine.

my cousin took 13 units-14 units every semester all his four years years at berkeley beecause the magic number you need for that to happen is 16. 16 elective credits earned from passing 3-4 ap tests in high school. which is not that hard.
