is this course load too much to handle?

This upcoming fall i will be taking 15 hrs.

General Chemistry 1
Engineering Physics 2
Statics
Civil Engineering Measurements
Applied Engineering Analysis 1

sometimes when talking to fellow classmates is seems like they spend less time studying than i do and we get around the same grades. i feel like i could study more efficiently.

what do i need to do in order to be successful? what kind of study habits should i develop?

Looks fairly heavy to me, especially if a few of those classes have labs. But it depends on your school; is five technical classes a normal courseload at your school? I know at my school such a courseload would be very rare.

Seems about right for engineering.

As far as studying goes everyones different. Some people just need more studying time. I would say that it’s good to study right before and right after a class. It’s also better most of the time to study frequently for less time then few times for long durations just to keep it fresh.

Seems about right. I’m guessing the measurements class is like 1 or 2 units? If so, you pretty much just have 4 classes, which is normal.

15 hours is normal. If you carry that over 8 semesters, that’s 120 hours, which is typically the minimal number of hours for graduation. Some schools have even higher requirements.
